I was a food addict, pre-diabetic, depressed, angry, naïve, young, and confused kid.

Looking back at my youth, I truly had many odds stacked against me to fail. I was poor, had drug addicted parents, and developed horrible habits to cope with the reality I was living in which led to me being overweight with no confidence. I was a food addict, pre-diabetic, depressed, angry, naïve, young, and confused about why so many bad things were happening to me. My mental, emotional, and physical health fed each other into a downward spiral. It took me most of my life to gain the knowledge and develop the philosophy that helped me overcome so many obstacles that brought happiness and success to my life.

My initial love for strength training as a child helped me overcome so many things…

on my journey and sparked my desire to be physically healthy and help others to do the same. Working out and playing football helped me get stronger and built mental fortitude but it was only a small part of my journey. Exercise and the side effects that came with it made me feel amazing, but I still broke down mentally and emotionally when I felt the world was beating me down. I was still angry. I was searching for answers to “fix” my life.
Though I had great success improving my health and losing weight, It wasn’t until I equally prioritized my mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, that I could truly overcome obesity, depression, poverty, and find a sense of purpose that has brought me happiness. I want to share the information, tools, and resources I used to elevate my life to where it is now with as many people as I can.

Danny Iniguez is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2009 with degrees in Exercise Physiology and Interdisciplinary Health concentrating in Behavior Change. He has 24 years of personal gym experience and 9 years as a fitness professional. He’s worked with all level of trainee- from athletes at the middle school, high school, and college level, to people recovering from injury. His focus has since shifted to working with weight loss, specifically those who are on the verge of obesity or pre-diabetic. With his pursuit of his Master’s Degree in Nutrition, he hopes to create as much impact as possible and help people who are struggling.
